Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath ji has said that the central and state government were
committed to the dignity, honour, and empowerment of women and informed that
various schemes had been rolled out with these objectives. The government,
society, and the family will have to make active and conscious efforts for the
safety, respect and independence of women, he said while adding that the
society will have to move ahead with positive awareness by taking wide
awareness and a quick decision by the government.
He also called upon all
social, professional, and voluntary organizations to move forward in the
direction of empowerment of women by joining them with protection, respect, and
self-reliance. On the occasion of International Women's Day at the Indira
Gandhi Pratishthan here, the Chief Minister was expressing his views on the
inauguration/foundation stone of various projects under the 'Mission Shakti'
and a dialogue programme of leading women from different fields.
On this occasion, 13 girls
hostels constructed at a cost of Rs 22 crore 13 lakh 25 thousand and four
Government Girls Inter College constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore 10 lakh 79
thousand were inaugurated by the Chief Minister. He awarded the 'Mission Shakti
Award' to 11 women - Mrs. Ranjana Dwivedi, Ms. Sita Kunwar, Ms. Sneha Tyagi,
Ms. Kusum, Mrs. Manmati, Mrs. Sunita, Ms. Aarti, Ms. Priyanka Rai, Mrs. Renu
Yadav, Mrs. Soni and Mrs. Santosh Kumari. A short film produced by the
information department was also screened during the programme. Through the
film, information was given about the initiatives of the State Government for
the safety, respect and empowerment of women.
During the programme,
Hon'ble Supreme Justice (Retd.) Mrs. Gyan Sudha Mishra of the Supreme Court
inaugurated the Women's Cybercrime Cell in 18 Police Range and one female
Police Post-Counselling Centre equivalent to the Police Station in the
Districts of the 18 Police Range. Under the 'Safe City Project', CEO and
Managing Director of Indian Bank, Ms. Padmaja Chunduru, inaugurated 45 pink
booths, 18 pink toilets and 660 street lights in Lucknow City and laid the
foundation stone of the new Asha Jyoti Kendra building.
In the programme, four
women who have excelled in various fields - Ms. Ravi Ranjana Pal President Jai
Ratangarh wali Women Self Help Group, Rasoi, Jhansi, Rani Laxmibai Awarded, to
inspire tribal women towards handicrafts art industry related to Tharu
traditions Smt. Aarti Rana of Lakhimpur Kheri district, who has made a special
contribution. Ms. Priyanka Goswami, an athlete from Meerut who set a national
record in the 20 km walk and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and Ms. Varsha
Shrivastava of Hosiery Garments in Gorakhpur district, shared their journey and
experiences.
The Chief Minister started

future (tomorrow) of the nation. He went on to add ^ukfLr
ekr`lek Nk;k] ukfLr ekr`lek xfr%A ukfLr ekr`lea =k.ka] ukfLr ekr`lek izikAA* (That is, there is no
shadow like a mother, no shelter, no protection, there is no life-giver in this
world like a mother).
Chief Minister said that
in our culture, many festivals like Navratri, Deepawali, Basant Panchami,
festivals are related to mother power. In a society that has always respected mother
power, in the same society, half the population is considered barbaric and that
was a matter everyone needed to ponder over. The State Government has
associated women's empowerment with festivals and festivals. 'Mission Shakti'
was started at the festival of Sharadeya Navratri. The second phase of 'Mission
Shakti' is starting today, he informed.
The Chief Minister said
that the program of 'Mission Shakti' is for women's safety, women's respect,
and women's self-reliance. Women will be automatically be empowered with
security, respect, and self-reliance. Even today, many women are showing their
way to a society with their specific works. He said that in this event, 04
women who have done excellent work in various fields including Ms. Justice Gyan
Sudha Mishra, CEO of Indian Bank, and Ms. Padmaja Chunduru, Managing Director,
Indian Bank - Ms. Ravi Ranjana Pal, Mrs. Aarti Rana, Ms. Priyanka Goswami, and
Ms. Varsha Srivastava are joining. These women are a symbol of female power.
Today 11 women have been awarded for their distinguished contribution in
carrying forward the 'Mission Shakti' program.
The Chief Minister said
that the present state government has been committed and sensitive to the
safety, respect, and independence of women from the very beginning. Soon after
coming to power in the year 2017, the state government took action to set up
the Anti-Romeo Squad in all the police stations for the protection and honour
of the girl child.
Under 'Mission Shakti',
women help desks have been set up in 1535 police stations and 350 tehsils,
which are functioning effectively. Education can become the basis of the
'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' scheme. There is a difference in the education of
boys and girls in society. Under this, there is a tendency to send the child to
the public school for education and the girl to the schools of the Basic
Education Council.
To eliminate this, about
93 thousand schools have been developed on the lines of public schools by
conducting a programme of rejuvenation of the schools of Basic Education
Council on the basis of public participation, he further said and pointed out
that in primary schools, free books, school bags, uniforms, shoes, stockings,
sweaters are being made available to the students. In the last three years, the
number of students in Basic Education Council schools has increased by 54 lakh.
Free education has been provided to the girls till graduation, he informed.
Chief Minister said that
lack of awareness is the major cause of female crimes. 'Mission Shakti' program
for awareness of women crimes was launched. Women's power line '1090' has been
activated throughout the state to control crimes against women by taking quick
action. Women helpline '181' is being operated in all the districts of the
state. Women's power line '1090' and women's helpline '181' have been
integrated with Integrated Emergency Service '112'. Chief Minister Helpline
'1076' is also being operated, the chief minister elaborated.
The Chief Minister also
said that 20 percent of the police recruitment made by the current State Government
was reserved for women. 3 women PAC battalions have been formed in Badaun
district, Lucknow and Gorakhpur. 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana' has been
implemented for the benefit and welfare of girls. Under this, 15 thousand
rupees are made available to the girls in 06 stages. Under the 'Mukhyamantri Samuhik
Vivah Yojana', financial assistance of Rs. 51,000 is being given to
beneficiaries. Under this scheme, marriages of one and a half lakh couples have
been completed so far. 218 fast-track courts have been set up for speedy
proceedings in women-related crimes. Instructions have been given for regular
meetings of the District Monitoring Committee for expeditious action under the POCSO
Act.
The Chief Minister said
that new schemes for women have been provisioned in the budget for the
financial year 2021-22. To solve the problem of malnutrition in women and
children, arrangements have been made for the operation of 'Mukhyamantri
Saksham Suposhan Yojana'. Under this scheme, there is a provision to provide
extra nutrition to the children up to 05 years registered at Aanganwadi Centres
and 11-14 years out of school girls with anaemia. Provision has also been made
for the implementation of a new scheme, the 'Mahila Samarthya Yojana'. Through
this, under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, work will be done to increase
the livelihood of the self-help groups of women milk producers in rural areas.
An arrangement of Rs 200 crore has been made for this.
The Chief Minister said
that under the 'Pradhanmantri Swamitwa Yojana', the operation of the survey is
conducted to provide ownership of the land built in the population. The State Government
has decided that the woman member should get the right of ownership in the land
of the population. He said that under the 'Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana', 40 lakh
families have been provided accommodation till now. Ownership of these houses
has also been given to women. He said that in the event of cancellation of
ration shops under the public distribution system, it has been decided to link
the work of ration distribution to women self-help groups and women self-help
groups with nutritional distribution programmes.
He stated further that in
order to make banking activities smooth and convenient in rural areas, BC
(Banking Correspondent) Sakhi has been formed in 59,000 villages of the state.
Under this, women are getting employment opportunities in the form of B.C.
Sakhi. After training, they are being deployed to provide banking facilities in
the villages. Due to this, the villagers will not have to go to the bank for
deposit and withdrawal of funds. There are 03 crore 56 lakh Jan Dhan account
holders in the state. During the Corona period, financial assistance has been
provided to them. To protect the dignity and dignity of women, 2.61 crore
toilets have been built under the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' in the state. 56 lakh
families have been given free LPG connection under 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala
Yojana'.
Addressing the programme,
Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma said that under the leadership of the
Chief Minister, the state government is constantly striving for equal status
for women and for their safety and dignity. Various awareness and training
programmes have been conducted for the safety of women. Under the 'Mukhyamantri
Kanya Sumangala Yojana' a provision of Rs. 1200 crore has been made. To promote
girl education, 04 Inter Colleges and 13 hostels of girls are being inaugurated
today.
Addressing the program,
Mrs. Justice (Retd.) Smt. Gyan Sudha Mishra said that Yogi Adityanath Ji is a
Visionary Chief Minister. Through 'Mission Shakti', the government was truly
empowering women, she said while also appreciating the establishment of Counseling
Centres in women's police posts, she said that these police posts will act as
First Aid Justice, which will provide necessary and useful legal assistance to
women.
Addressing the programme,
CEO and Managing Director of Indian Bank, Ms. Padmaja Chunduru said that women
are very capable, they need to move forward with confidence. The Safe City
Project is beneficial for women. Emphasizing the self-sufficiency of women, he
said that for this, women should take advantage of the cooperation being done
by the Central and State Government through various schemes. She praised the
state government for the management of Prayagraj Kumbh-2019 and Covid-19.
Praising the 'One District, One Product' scheme of the State Government, he
said that the scheme will be promoted under the 'Mission Prerna' of the Indian
Bank.
