After being elected as the leader of the legislative party for a second term, Yogi Adityanath said that with the motto of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’, the party has proved its mettle in people’s court. With this election, the BJP also showed that elections can be "fought on nationalism and good governance.
“We got a two-thirds majority because of our hard work in the last five years. Our government has brought poor welfare schemes to the common people without any discrimination. There was no plan for the development of the poor in the SP-BSP government,” said Uttar Pradesh CM-designate Yogi Adityanath in his address to BJP MLAs.
The meeting held at Lok Bhawan was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who has been nominated as an observer for Uttar Pradesh and co-observer and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das along with senior party leaders.
Yogi, in his address, further asserted that there were several development projects successfully carried out in UP in the last 5 years with the support and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the first time, people realised that homes for the poor could be built, for the first time people realised that UP can be riot free.
Lashing out the previous government for doing the politics of casteism, Yogi stated, “During the Covid-19 pandemic, it was a dream for the poor to get ration. But our government provided free ration to 15 crore people in UP without any discrimination. Despite all the false propaganda spread by the opposition parties, the public gave a befitting reply to them.”
The opposition were all trying to influence the outcome of this election. With this election, the BJP also showed that elections can be "fought on nationalism and good governance, The people of Uttar Pradesh rose above the narrow circle of dynasty, casteism, he added.
Thanking the Prime Minister, Amit Shah, and the BJP party for choosing him as leader of Legislature Party again, Yogi said that for the first time a Chief Minister completed his 5-year tenure and the party came to power once again for the second time in UP. “This has happened for the first time and happened under the guidance and leadership of PM Modi,” he said.
The party believed in me in 2017. I wasn’t an MLA and was just a normal MP without any administrative experience and yet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the home minister were like guardians to me and told me how to bring good governance to UP, he said.
During his address, the CM hit out at the previous governments saying, “From 2017 we took the state from bad governance to good governance. Now our responsibility has further increased. We need to work on strengthening good governance.”
He also said that the previous governments did not have any schemes of their own. In fact, they even failed to implement the schemes of the central government. Today, the state of Uttar Pradesh is the leader in implementing every scheme.
Adityanath stated, “The people of Uttar Pradesh had this belief 'Modi hai toh mumkin hai'. We have to work together again for the betterment of the state. UP is the most populated state in the country, there is a lot of work I have to do in the coming years.”
Yogi will take oath as UP chief minister at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, and BJP senior leadership is expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony.
