Robert Vadra Real Face – Draw your Own Conclusions?

Recently, visual media has featured Robert Vadra (RV), Son-in-Law of Sonia Ghandy, and husband of Priyanka Ghandy, with a tilak, mark applied to the forehead during religious occasions or worship, and wrapped in a saffron/yellow colours Hindu shawl to lay claims to his Hindu lineage.

RV is boasting that people of India want him to contest in Amethi in the 2024 elections. RV also claims that he is close to people and easily accessible to them to address their problems. Ironic but true, that the Congress High Command Triumvirate are yet to vote in CWC favouring his candidature. Judging by his inflated ideas of his own importance, RV is undeniably narcissistic and egotistic.

Note: Feroze Gandhi was born Feroze Jehangir Ghandy on September 12, 1912 in Bombay. His parents, Ratimai (née Commissariat) and Jehangir Faredoon Ghandy, were Parsis. Jehangir worked as a marine engineer. How long will the Ghandy brood own up their lineage instead of Gandhi surname?

Next, to claim secular credentials, RV has been visiting various religious places, particularly Hindu temples, across the country since 2019, mostly during election seasons, along with his wife Priyanka Ghandy Vadra – fake Hindu. List of Hindu Temples visited by RV include: Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, Vrindavan's Banke Bihari Temple, Siddhivinayak Temple at Prabhadevi, Mahakaleshwar temple at Ujjain, Saibaba Temple at Shirdi, among others like the Golden Temple and Haji Ali Dargah.

During RVs visit to Tirumala, when an official of Sri Padmavathi Guest House approached him for a signature mandated for non-Hindus, RV said that he is not a Christian. “My father is a Punjabi and my mother is a Christian. I am a Hindu and in my last visit too I have not signed and this time also.”

What is the family background of RV? Does his business rise indicate honesty and integrity? A brief review is presented to draw the reader's conclusions.  Most importantly, how can Priyanka Ghandy Vadra, having lived for 25 years feign ignorance RVs ill-gotten wealth under ED scrutiny and misdeeds?

As per data available in public domain, within a span of 5-6 years, RVs small time Janpath footpath business grew into a conglomerate/empire.  As per Prashant Bhusan, RV's wealth grew from Rs 50 lakh to over Rs 300 crore in three years during UPA rule. In 2023, RVs estimated net worth of approximately Rs 17,250 Crore ($2.1 Billion). How can a “Brassware dealer”, who did not pass out of school, become a billionaire by fair means within a span of 15 years or so?

RV’s, bearing DIN number 01840634, business conglomerate includes: Sky Light Hospitality Private Limited; Blue Breeze Trading Pvt Ltd (aircraft chartering) with 4 aircraft; North India IT Parks Pvt Ltd; Real Earth Estates Private Limited; Lifeline Agrotech Private Limited, Greenwave Agro Private Limited, Future Infra Agro Private Limited, and Primetime Agro Private Limited.

There are four cases against RV under investigation: Arvind Kejriwal allegation of taking an interest-free loan of 650 million and heavy bargains on land from DLF Limited in exchange for political favours in 2011; Bikaner Kolayat area in Rajasthan case that includes his mother Maureen; Gurugram Rajiv Gandhi Trust land grab case; and the London property.

RV’s entry into the real estate business was accompanied by a partnership with the country’s largest realty firm, DLF Ltd, a staggering feat by any standards (The Economic Times, 14 March 2011). The method adopted to rise from ‘rags to riches’ appears simple. RV received unsecured loans, free of interest, from DLF Limited, which was used by him to buy back properties grossly undervalued from the DLF. Thus, Vadra’s receipt of unsecured loans certainly merits a probe.  RV quietly switched lanes in 2008, buying up land in Haryana and Rajasthan, a 50% stake in a leading business hotel in Delhi, and entered the business of chartering aircraft, a quantum jump that certainly merits an explanation.

Also, RV allegedly committed the fraud of money laundering in the purchase of a London-based property – located at 12, Brynston Square – worth 1.9 million pounds (Rs. 17,77,41,336). As per media reports, the property  was bought by Bhandari for GBP 1.9 million and sold in 2010 for the same despite incurring additional expenses of approximately GBP 65,900 on its renovation confirming that the property was owned by Vadra.   Arora, an employee of Vadra’s Skylight Hospitality LLP, and a key person  was aware of Vadra’s overseas undeclared assets and was instrumental in arranging funds.

Next, what is RV’s lineage? Irrefutable facts include: RV was born on 18 April 1969 to Rajendra and Maureen (nee McDonagh) was of Anglo Indian origin, with roots stretching back to Scotland; Rajendra’s family was originally from Sialkot, Pakistan, who migrated at the time of partition and took up residence in Civil Lines area of Moradabad; family ran a brass and wood handicrafts business starting from a small company called Artex, specialising in artificial jewellery and handicraft exports.

Some of the other highlights of RVs include: Rajinder separated from his wife, Maureen; and RV had two siblings, Richard and Michelle. While RV was the proprietor of Artex Exports, through which he sold costume jewellery. Richard ran an independent export business.

RV married Priyanka Ghandy in 1997. Vadra’s father had "expressed displeasure" with RV's marriage with Priyanka Ghandy.  RV issued a public notice in 2001, stating that his father, Rajender, and brother, Richard, were "duping" people by promising jobs at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee and other favours. Rajendra threatened to file a defamation suit against his son. In January 2002, RV placed ads in newspapers, declaring that he had nothing to do with his father, Rajinder, and brother, Richard, and that any attempts by them to gain favours by pretending to act on his behalf should be disregarded.

In April2001, RV's sister Michelle died in a car accident. In 2003, RVs brother Richard Vadra reportedly committed suicide in Moradabad. In 2009, RVs father Rajendra Vadra, reportedly died of a heart attack, although police officials reported that Rajendra allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Room Number 6 of a guesthouse in Yusuf Sarai. So, RVs family is a divided family and his disowning of his father, brother and sister indicates opportunistic behaviour for selfish ends.

Can such a person be trusted with a national leadership role? Political Vendetta was the hoarse cry of all the cronies of the “Fraudsters Dynasty of Ghandy”.

To sum up, RVs “Hindu nautanki-cum-secular” religious visits, phenomenal business rise from a footpath brass metal seller to real estate tycoon by dubious means, and his divided family background does not augur well for future political leadership roles. Best left to readers to reach a conclusion! Surely, RVs wife, Priyanka Ghandy Vadra cannot lay claims to higher ethics, morals and values having lived with him for 25 years and retaining “Gandhi” affix instead of “Ghandy” afix.

How long have “We the People” been fooled by RV and the Fraud Dynasty? Wake up “We the People of Amethi and Rae Bareli” before RV takes you all on a fake garden path to prosperity!
