Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said that in the development blocks of the state today, large-scale events have been organized by the Agriculture Department regarding the schemes of the government for the welfare of farmers. He said that the Central and State Governments are working with full commitment to the interests of farmers. If the farmer will be happy, the village will be happy and then it will pave the way for the development of the country.

For the first time since independence, he pointed out, farmers have become part of the agenda of the country's politics in the year 2014. For the development of the village and for the rights of women the government policies began to be formed. Today something new is being seen in every field, the chief minister further said.

The Chief Minister also said that the Central and State Governments have implemented various schemes to bring about a comprehensive change in the life of the Annadata and today the foundation stone of a hostel and new administrative building of the Government Agricultural College has also been laid for the farmers at a cost of Rs. 20 crore. He said that no farmer is charged mandi fees on his produce, instead the mandi spends a large part of its income directly for farmer welfare. That money is spent directly and indirectly for the welfare of the farmers.

Citing the example of strawberry cultivation in two bighas by a farmer of Gorakhpur district, the Chief Minister said that he has earned Rs. 14 lakhs in just six months by cultivating strawberries in two bighas in which he has earned a profit of Rs. 6 lakhs.

The Chief Minister allayed misinformation that the mandi's will be closed under the Agriculture Act and pointed out that the mandis are now standing up for a healthy competition. Not a single mandi has been closed since June 2020, not only this, the work of connecting the mandis on the lines of 'One Nation, One Market' is being done, he underlined.

The Chief Minister said that payment for sugarcane of Rs. 1.27 lakh crore has been made directly to the bank accounts of the farmers by the state government in the course of 4 years. The State Government has completed the completion of 20 pending projects in 4 years, 9 projects

have been completed, 11 projects will be completed in this financial year, he further informed.

More than 20 lakh hectares of land will be provided with irrigation facilities. The Chief Minister said that 56 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured last year, this year 69 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased at the minimum support price. He said that most of the sugar mills in the state were closed. After the formation of the government in 2017, the sugar mills were revived. Pipraich sugar mill was operated in Gorakhpur. Under the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme', about Rs. 27,0000 crore were sent to 2.42 crore farmers in their accounts.

The Chief Minister said that to bring changes in the lives of farmers, the cost has to be reduced. For this, one or two Krishi Vigyan Kendras are working in every district of the state, which are helping farmers in providing benefits of various schemes and techniques. To increase the income of the farmers, the input costs need to be decreased.

On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Surya Pratap Shahi said that Uttar Pradesh is moving ahead at a rapid pace. Efforts are being made to improve the condition of the farmers. The loan of Rs. 36 thousand crore of 86 lakh small and marginal farmers was waived off. This scheme was implemented within two years. The loan of farmers up to one lakh rupees was waived off.
