Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji on Friday addressed a public rally after inaugurating the development exhibition at Avadh Shilpgram on the occasion of completion of 4 years of the state government. He said that during the four-year tenure of the state government, each region has worked with the basic mantra of Reform, Performance, and Transform, due to which the wave of peace and development generated in the state has changed the perception of people about the state.
The Chief Minister said that if the citizen of the state used to go somewhere four years ago, people used to look down on them, but now due to the reforms, performance and transformations during the last four years, the attitude of the people has changed towards Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji also said that Uttar Pradesh is the land of Lord Shri Ram, Lord Shri Krishna, Ganga and Yamuna and has been inspired by the thoughts and views of various great men. This land has given the highest number of Prime Ministers to the country. With the untiring efforts of the state government, Uttar Pradesh has now transformed from a sick state to a developed and capable state, he underlined while adding that today Uttar Pradesh is the pride of its people and now also the second biggest economy in the country.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has implemented the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra literally in words and spirit. Today, the state has its own special place in every field. Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana, he said that Uttar Pradesh was ranked 23rd in the year 2017, while today it is the first in the entire country by providing housing to 40 lakh beneficiaries under this scheme in urban and rural areas.
He also pointed out that at the time of formation of the government in the year 2017, the ranking of the state under the Swachh Bharat Mission was 27th - only two-and-a-half million toilets were built in two-and-a-half years. During the tenure of the present government, 2.61 crore toilets have been made available to the people under it. This goal was achieved by the state government on October 2, 2018, one year before its scheduled time, and the state was declared as ODF.
The Chief Minister informed that in the past, 1.21 lakh villages had no electricity and that not only have these villages been electrified during the last four years by the state government but free electricity connections have been provided to 1.38 crore poor. Special attention has been paid by the state government to improve the power supply. Today 24 hours in district headquarters, 20-22 hours in tehsil headquarters, 16-18 hours in rural areas, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the condition of roads in the state was poor in the past. Today, with the efforts of the state government, roads are being widened and strengthened. Infrastructure facilities are being developed in the state. New expressways are being constructed. Poorvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway are expected to be operational by the end of this year.
Adding that once Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, Ganga, and Gorakhpur link expressways are ready, the state's economy will grow rapidly and Uttar Pradesh will be the largest economy in the country, the chief minister also said that streets in rural areas have been improved.
The Chief Minister said that there has been a massive improvement in connectivity within the state. Today, 05 new international airports are being constructed in the state. After the construction of Jewar International Airport, it will generate annual revenue of Rs. 1 lakh crore, which will lead to the rapid development of Uttar Pradesh. Today, airport construction is going on in many cities of Uttar Pradesh. Metro rail is operating in many cities of the state, while Action is being taken to run the metro rail in these cities.
The Chief Minister said that for the purpose of promoting education, the state government is setting up universities. A university and airport are being constructed in the Azamgarh district. Now the image of this district is changing and all facilities are being made available to the residents. He further said that the village, poor, farmers, women, and youth have welcomed the reformist steps of the state government.
Referring to the steps taken by the state government in the field of education, he said that now the examination is being done without cheating and copying in the state. 30 new medical colleges are being established in the state. Action is being taken to establish a medical college in the remaining districts.
The Chief Minister said that a university is being established by the state government in the name of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh in the Aligarh district. For this, the land will be provided by the state government. Also, the money will also be arranged. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University is being established in Lucknow. Also, the UP State Police and Forensic Institute is being established here.
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh stands second in Ease of Doing Business today. This is possible due to improvement in the law and order of the state. There was no riot in the state during the last four years. The state government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards crime. Today, criminals are scared and roaming around. Due to improved law and order, investment is coming in the state. Today Uttar Pradesh is the destination of investment.
He also said that with full transparency, the state government has given jobs to 4 lakh youth of the state, while 3 crore youth have been linked with employment. All this is the result of better coordination between the government and the administration. He said that the state government will also work with zeal to fulfil the aspirations of 24 crore people of the state in the future.
The program was also addressed by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Finance Minister Mr. Suresh Kumar Khanna and Member of Legislative Council Mr. Swatantra Dev Singh. On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed acceptance letters and cheques to the beneficiaries of self-help groups, ODOP, destitute women pension scheme and other welfare schemes. He also distributed golden cards to the beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and also provided food annotations to the children. He also inaugurated the exhibition organized on this occasion. He also released the book 'U.P. Defence Corridor'.
During the program, Mayor of Lucknow Mrs. Sanyukta Bhatia, Chief Secretary Mr. RK Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. Avanish Kumar Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary Information and MSME Mr. Navneet Sehgal, Principal Secretary Chief Minister and Information Mr. Sanjay Prasad, Information Director Mr. Shishir and other senior officials were present.
It is known that the development exhibition was organized in coordination with the Information and Public Relations Department. In this exhibition, stalls were set up by Information Department, UPIDA, UP Metro, O.D.O.P., Mission Employment, Mission Shakti/Nutrition, Agriculture / Mandi, P.W.D./Setu Nigam, Medical Education Department.
