Rahul Ghandy Character Appraisal?
The latest outburst or invocation of RG before the media on being sentenced to two years in prison (Quote of M K Gandhi): "My religion is based on truth and non-violence. Truth is my God, non-violence the means to get it”.
Surprising and ironic that none of the self styled intellectuals and media channels failed to carry out unbiased and unprejudiced character/personality appraisal of Rahul Ghandy – the “Yuv Raj”, Prince-charming in Waiting and so on.
The way and tenor of RG’s speech clearly exposes his character – Arrogance Personified.
None of the intellectuals or media have questioned RGs claim to be the epitome of “Truth”.
Ipso facto, M K Gandhi was born into a Gujarati Hindu Modh Bania family in Porbandar.
RG cannot lay claims to the “Gandhi” Clan. His grandfather Feroz Shah Jehangir Ghandy was a parsi. His grandmother, at best, can claim to be Indira Nehru.
Not to be left out of consideration is Congress Party’s claim in 2017 that RG is a janeu-dhari (the one who wears Brahminical thread) Hindu.
Subsequently in August 2022, on being initiated into the Lingayat sect, RG cannot wear Janeu as the members of the Lingayat community do not wear it.
Furthermore, RG was born to Sonia Gandhi (née Maino) and raised in a Roman Catholic family in Italy. Most importantly, RG's Cambridge Certificate says his name is Raul Vinci.
In retrospect, RG's bombastic claim to “Truth” falls flat by his “Chameleon” like changes best suited to political situations.
RG may also lay claim to “Non-Violence”, but it too falls flat based on his outburst in the Parliament in 2013, when he tore the ordinance to protect convicted lawmakers brought for discussion by his own Congress Party government.
Add to it, RGs outbursts like “Chowkidar Chor Hai” etc.
RG and his ‘Coterie’ are precipitating chaos in pursuit of reclaiming power in New Delhi through invocation of choicest abuses – gully politics.
And, RG is posturing outside the parliament as an angry young man
RG and his cronies must always remember the famous Abraham Lincoln’s quote: “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
In his resignation letter and presently his book release, former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad launched a scathing attack on RG and said that “the entire consultative mechanism which existed earlier was demolished by him (Rahul)” after his entry into party affairs in 2013 as vice-president. Saying that under Rahul, a new “coterie of inexperienced sycophants” started running the party, Azad, citing “one of the most glaring examples of this immaturity”, referred to an incident from 2013 when the then party vice-president tore into an ordinance brought in by his party-led UPA government.
In retrospect, RG’s claims to “Truth and Non-Violence” is the worst fraud played to the gallery of “We the Gullible People” of India as ways and means to win elections.
Never too late for all the intellectuals and media houses to provide actual FACTS to the people of India for them to draw their inferences about RG character.
