Increased fees in Private Schools

Lucknow: The new academic session has brought a significant hike in the fees of private schools, making school education more expensive. Many of the city’s leading schools have increased their fees by up to 10 percent. It is noteworthy that all schools are required to upload their fee details on the school’s website.

An analysis of the fees of various prestigious schools in Lucknow for the academic session 2025-26 reveals that City Montessori School (CMS) has the lowest admission fee and annual composite fee for pre-primary and primary sections. In contrast, G.D. Goenka School, Shaheed Path, has the highest annual composite fee for pre-primary classes, while Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, has the highest annual composite fee for primary classes. Similarly, Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, leads in terms of junior section fees, whereas Delhi Public School, Gomti Nagar Extension, has the lowest annual composite fee for junior classes.

An interesting fact is that the fee difference between certain schools at the pre-primary level is nearly threefold. For example, the fee at G.D. Goenka School is 300 percent higher than that of

City Montessori School. Another noteworthy fact is that some schools, including K.R. Mangalam,

G.D. Goenka and A.R. Jaipuria, have nearly the same annual composite fee for both pre-primary (Montessori to KG) and junior (Classes 6 to 8) levels. However, City Montessori School stands out as an exception, with its pre-primary fees being almost half of its junior class fees.

A third key observation is the significant variation in the admission fee and refundable deposit charged by different schools. For instance, La Martiniere Boys' College charges ₹95,000 as an admission fee, K.R. Mangalam School charges ₹60,000, whereas City Montessori School charges

only ₹17,000.
