Lucknow : Within few months after the grand opening, Lulu Mall here bags the Guinness World Record for conducting the largest relay lamp lighting. Historical achievement for Mall comes during the event conducted as part of Diwali celebrations. Customers, employees of the mall and retail shops participated in the relay conducted at the mall atrium.
Lulu Group Regional Director Jayakumar Gangadharan and Lulu Mall General Manager Sameer Verma were the first participants in the relay. Both of them jointly lit the first diya. With this, the relay has started. Immediately after that, within every twenty seconds, each person, in one by one lit the diyas. In a short time, a total of 350 lamps were lit in all rows. All the lights remained glowing until the relay was completed. With the relay lighting, mall's atrium turned into a beautiful visual wonder.
Team led by Rishi Nath, Guinness World Records Adjudicator was present at the Mall to witness the event and the team verified the relay lighting with the help of stopwatches.
Jayakumar Gangadharan, Regional Director, Lulu Group, said that he is happy that the Lamp lighting relay at the mall, conducted as part of Diwali celebrations, bagged the Guinness World Record. This great achievement is now written in the book with golden letters, he said.
