First phase of 'Mission Shakti' was rolled out on the festival of
Sharadiya Navratri in the year 2020 and the second one was
inaugurated, this year on 8th March, 2021 on International Women's Day

In 1,535 police stations and 350 tehsils under 'Mission Shakti' women 

help desks have been set up, which are functioning effectively

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji has said that women's protection, respect and self-reliance will lead to women's empowerment and underlined the need for awareness for this. In this sequence, 'Mission Shakti Abhiyan' is being conducted by the State Government, the positive results of which are visible, he said while expressing confidence that the 'Mission Shakti Abhiyan' will achieve its goals and the empowerment of women will bring prosperity to the entire society and country.

The Chief Minister was on Friday addressing the Hindustan Mission Shakti Mahasamvad programme in a virtual mode at his official residence. On this occasion, he also interacted with 10 women who have outstanding achievements and successes in various fields through video conferencing. He said that at present many women and girls are showing the way to society and becoming the inspiration of people with their specific works, achievements and successes.

The Chief Minister said that lack of awareness is the major cause of crimes against women. In order to cope with the challenges faced by women, awareness-creation works are necessary to be done on a large scale. In view of this, the first phase of 'Mission Shakti' was inaugurated on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri in the year 2020. This year, on March 8, 2021, the second phase of this campaign started on the occasion of International Women's Day.

The Chief Minister said that under 'Mission Shakti', women help desks have been set up in 1,535 police stations and 350 tehsils, which are functioning effectively. Action has been taken under the recruitment of women in the police force, as a result of which more women have joined the police force. He said that women's cybercrime cells have been established in 18 police Range Offices and one women's police check post-counseling centre has been set up in districts.

The Chief Minister said that the Women's Power Line-1090 has been activated throughout the state to control crimes against women by taking prompt action. To provide relief and help to women and girls, 'Women Helpline-181' is being operated on. The Women's Power Line-1090 and the Women's Helpline-181 have been integrated with the Integrated Emergency Service-112'. In this context, he also referred to 'CM Helpline-1076' and said that this helpline is playing an effective role in solving people's problems.

The Chief Minister said that provisions of new schemes for women have been made in the budget for the financial year 2021-22. A new 'Mahila Samarthya Yojana' is being implemented. Through this, under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, work will be done to increase the livelihood of the self-help groups of women milk producers in rural areas.

He also said that under the 'Pradhan Mantri Swamitwa Yojana', the survey work is conducted to provide ownership of the land in the houses built in the population. Under this scheme, women will get the right of co-ownership, thereby benefiting a large number of women.

Chief Minister, while communicating with Ms. Shreeti Pandey (Construction Innovator) of Gorakhpur who achieved outstanding achievements and successes, said that she maintained her spirits even during the Corona period and constructed an Eco-Friendly Covid Hospital. He said that in view of the need for good and safe houses, there are vast possibilities in the field of housing construction, which can be worked on. The Chief Minister appreciated the work done during the corona period of Dr. Monika (Microbiology) of Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, and said that she contributed significantly to the RTPCR investigations.

Apart from these, the Chief Minister also communicated with Ms. Prerna Verma (Young Entrepreneur and Exporter) from Kanpur, Ms. Aparna Rajawat (Self Defense) from Agra, Ms. Harsha Arora (Youth Entrepreneur) from Aligarh, Dr. Nandita Shastri from Varanasi (Veda Penetrating and Sanskrit Scholars), Ms. Shashi Nadia (Garments Export) from Noida, Ms. Geeta Sharma (Former International Hockey Player) from Bareilly, Ms. Anita Rana (Child Helpline and Environment) from Meerut and Ms. Tayiba Khatoon (Handicrafts) from Moradabad appreciating their excellent efforts and works.
