Uttar Pradesh's economy was ranked sixth in the country
in the year 2015-16, currently, it is the second-largest
economy in the country, this achievement was achieved
by sustained efforts made by the incumbent State
Government after assuming power in March 2017

 

The largest MSME sector of the country is in the
state, has generated more jobs in less capital

 

The State Government started the 'One District, One Product' scheme in 2018, under the scheme, specific products
of each district were identified and promoted

 

In the year 2015-16 and 2016-17, the unemployment rate in
the state was 17.5 percent, which has come down to 4.1 percent at present, dip in the unemployment rate is credited to more
job creation and employment opportunities by the State Government in the agriculture and MSME sectors

 

Increase in income of the people due to big-ticket
employment generation in the state in four years, the per
capita income has doubled from Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 95,000 

 

The State Government made several reforms for 'Ease of Doing Business' and implemented it in a timely and phased manner, as a result, the state is currently ranked second from the earlier 14th position in 'Ease of Doing Business ranking in 2015-16.

 

Private investment of Rs. 3 lakh crore took place in
the state in four years, about Rs. 60,000 crore were
invested during the time of the Corona pandemic 

 

The State Government has focused on 'Ease of Doing
Business, as well as 'Ease of Living', which helps
in improving both business and income

 

The State Government has in the last four years,
benefited villages, the poor, farmers, labourers and
all classes including youth, through its various schemes

            Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji has said that Prime Minister has pledged to make the economy of the country worth 5 trillion dollars and that the state of Uttar Pradesh has joined hands with his dream and is striving to make the state's economy worth one trillion dollar. 

Uttar Pradesh has the highest population in the country. Every sixth person of the country belongs to the state, the Chief Minister said while adding that the state's vast populace, its resources, and manpower would align with the PM's dream of making India a five trillion dollar economy.

            The Chief Minister was on Friday expressing his views at the 'India Economic Conclave' through the virtual medium. He said that the period of the last one year has been very challenging due to the COVID pandemic and pointed out how due to the visionary leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the country had fought and won the war against the dreaded virus.

            The Prime Minister, he further pointed out, gave the mantra of turning disaster into opportunity in the Corona period and that of a self-reliant India. Under the leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister, the state achieved remarkable success in Corona management by fully following the guidelines prescribed for the prevention and treatment of Covid-19, the Chief Minister informed.

Everyone, including the World Health Organization (WHO), has appreciated the success of the state in Corona management, the CM said. Mentioning the massive change in the state in the past four years, the Chief Minister added that Uttar Pradesh's economy was ranked sixth in the country in the year 2015-16 has now emerged as the second-largest economy in the country. 

This achievement has been achieved by the continuous efforts made by the present State Government after assuming power in March 2017, he said while pointing out that to increase the income of the state, work was done by marking the regions by the State Government. 

He said that the land of the state is very fertile having sufficient water resources here. In view of this, the work was done by the State Government keeping agriculture and farmers in mind. It was implemented by formulating a policy for the procurement of agricultural produce at the minimum support price. Irrigation projects pending for decades have been completed, he informed.

The Chief Minister said that the state has the largest MSME sector in the country. In the MSME sector, more employment is generated in less capital. The state government launched the 'One District One Product (ODOP) scheme in the year 2018. Under the scheme, specific products of each district were identified and promoted.

In Gorakhpur, technical assistance, solar wheels, etc. were made available to the artisans to encourage the work of Terracotta. The Mati Kala Board was formed for the entire state. He said that during the Corona period, 40 lakh workers returned to the state from other states. The State Government brought him home safely and with dignity.

The Chief Minister said that in the year 2015-16 and 2016-17, the unemployment rate in the state was 17.5 percent, which has come down to 4.1 percent at present. The unemployment rate has come down due to large-scale job creation and employment opportunities in the agriculture and MSME sector by the State Government, he stated. 

He said that 4 lakh people were employed by the State Government through a fair and transparent recruitment process in the government sector. In the last 4 years, more than 35 lakh people got employment due to large-scale investment in the state. 1.5 crore jobs have been created in the MSME sector. 

Also, a large number of People have also got employment through self-employment. The Chief Minister said that the income of the people has increased due to employment generation in a big way. From the year 1947 to the year 2017, the per capita income in the state increased to Rs. 47 thousand. In the 04 years from the year 2017 to 2021, the per capita income in the state has doubled to Rs. 95,000, he remarked.

The rapid increase in per capita income shows the pace of growth in the state, he said and added that the state government has implemented these in a time-bound manner, making many reforms for the ease of doing business, as a result, the state has now moved up to the second position in the country from the 14th position in the 'Ease of Doing Business' ranking in 2015-16.

The Chief Minister said that due to the 'Ease of Doing Business', there has been an atmosphere of business and investment in the state. In 4 years, despite the struggle of 1 year with Corona, there has been a private investment of Rs. 3 lakh crore in the state of which about Rs. 60,000 crore was invested in the state during the Covid period.

The country's first display unit is being established and the first data center park of North India is being established in the state. He said that the State Government has given attention to 'Ease of Doing Business' as well as 'Ease of Living'. Better 'Ease of Living' is helpful in increasing both business and income. He said that the vision of the Prime Minister has been conceived in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government has benefited all sections of the village, poor, farmers, labourers, youth and others from various schemes in the last 4 years. 

Housing was provided to 40 lakh poor families, 1.21 crore villages were electrified, 2.61 crore toilets were constructed and under the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' system, the facility of portability was made available to all the ration card holders of the state, he further informed. 

'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana' has been successfully implemented. A cover of Rs. 5 lakh is provided for medical treatment to the poor families under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. The Chief Minister said that work has been done at a rapid pace to strengthen the infrastructure. 

The district headquarters have been linked with 4 lanes. Traffic will start this year on Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway. Land acquisition work of Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj is going on. 

The work of Gorakhpur Link Expressway is underway on a war footing. The work of Ballia Link Expressway is also progressing at a fast pace, he said and pointed out that in the year 2017, there were only 2 functional airports in the state while at present there are 8 functional airports, and other than them, work was underway on 17 others. 

Asia's largest international airport is under construction at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the Chief Minister informed. An international airport is being constructed in Ayodhya district, International Airports are already operational in Lucknow and Varanasi. Soon International Airport will be functional in Kushinagar, he said while also informing that the first waterway of the country is operational between Haldia and Varanasi and the remarkable thing being that this route was completed during the Corona period.
